Getting started in NEOM
NEOM is a single workspace for running a construction project — RFIs, drawings, claims, variations, programme, HSEQ, and the operator-facing dashboards built on top. This page is the first thing a new account-holder should read.
The top bar
Every page in NEOM shares the same dark header. From left to right:
- Project switcher — jumps you between the projects you have access to. Sticky per browser, so the last project you opened is the default next session.
- Breadcrumbs — the path through the workspace. Click any segment to jump back to that level.
- Global search — the input in the middle. Hits RFIs, variations, claims, submittals, drawings, HSEQ incidents and procurement packages with tenant-scoped ranking. Press
Ctrl+K(orCmd+Kon macOS) for the command palette. - Tools menu — the grid icon. Every workspace tool in one menu, organised by phase.
- Notifications bell — assistant alerts blended with persistent notifications.
- Help menu — what you are reading now.
How projects are structured
Each project has its own URL space: /projects/<id>/…. Within that:
/projects/<id>— project home with the attention strip, status tiles, and recent activity./projects/<id>/daily-log— the daily site diary, weather, and crew counts./projects/<id>/drawings— the drawing register, markups, and revision compare./projects/<id>/rfis— RFIs in flight, plus the answered archive./projects/<id>/variations— variations, including parent-scope checks and SOPA links./projects/<id>/commercial/cashflow— three-zone cashflow with the manual-recalc audit./projects/<id>/correspondence— emails and formal letters tied to the project.
There is no "switch role" affordance — your permissions follow your account and the project membership table. If you cannot see a tool, your role does not currently include it; ask the project administrator to extend your membership.
Working with the workspace
A few patterns you will use every day:
- The attention strip on the project home is the operator's daily punch-list. It rolls together open RFIs, late submittals, expiring variations, programme slippage, and HSEQ incidents into one score. Click any chip to drop straight into the underlying register.
- The command palette (
Ctrl+K) is the fastest way to navigate. Type any record number (RFI-0023,VO-007,CLAIM-0012) and it routes to the detail page. - Search before creating. Every register has a search field, and the global header search covers all of them. NEOM does not de-duplicate after the fact, so check first.
- Audit logging is mandatory. Every edit to a workflow record (RFI, variation, claim, HSEQ incident) writes an audit entry with the actor, before/after state, and timestamp. You cannot hide a change.
Where to read next
- The RFI workflow topic walks the open → response → close lifecycle.
- The Variation workflow topic covers parent scope, status transitions, and the SOPA link.
- The Claim workflow topic explains how progress claims roll up to the final account.
- The Mobile camera topic covers the daily-log photo capture flow on phones and tablets.
- The Keyboard shortcuts topic lists every binding currently mapped in the workspace.
If you are stuck, the contact-support link in the help menu opens an email to the operations team. Include the URL of the page you were on and the record reference, and a response usually lands within the working day.
