Contract value: $21,500,000
Retention cap (= 5% × contract): $1,075,000
On a $200,000 certified claim, retention this period would be $20,000 (10%, capped if cumulative ≥ $1,075,000).
At PC handover, of the cap-held amount the principal would release $537,500 (50% PC), and at end-of-DLP $537,500 (50% DLP).
